LOVED the storm on Tuesday! And lucky for us, we even got more on Wednesday and this morning up until about noon or so! My kids are so happy to be having a "stay at home day" as they call it. Me too! I always played hooky more in the winter than in the summer!
All that water stirred up the worms at our house. Our back patio was apparently covered with them. That is, before Sarah started picking them all up!
By the end of the afternoon, the worms had a new home.
I am not exaggerating when I say that the bucket was about 1/4 full of worms. Dirt was added, and JJ wanted to put his socks in there too so the worms wouldn't get cold last night! They are on their way to our garden soon! Gotta love this little girl who is NOT afraid to get her hands dirty!
Funny that I found something today that kind of put all of this in perspective. I am feeling a bit out of sorts lately. All this busy-ness has given me no time for reading, writing or even feeling like I can muster up a coherent thought! Even my blogging is not what I want it to be. Then I came upon this by Mimi Doe, author speaker and creator of Spiritual Parenting newsletter:
Fostering and nourishing your child's spirit is as creative an endeavor as writing a novel or painting a masterpiece. Opportunities to explore this creativity present themselves each day, no matter the age of your child.
I'm thinking that she must be talking about that muddy pile of laundry in my laundry room. Creativity abounds!
