Today would have been Rosa Parks' 97th birthday. Here, eleven words that spoke volumes and created great change:
"All I was doing was trying to get home from work."
Reading those words, I was struck by their simplicity, their honesty and their reality (a woman just needed to get home). But they resonated for me, too, as I think of all of us parents who parent on a daily basis and just do what we need to do to make it happen. On that level, we are all heroes too.
