Today is my sweet girl's 3rd birthday! I simply cannot believe that three years has gone by! But when she talks, it is apparent that she is 3 going on 13! She has got SOME little attitude going on, let me tell you! Her father says she reminds him of ME! (The nerve!) I say she acts just like him! She's the one who has already been to the ER (just like her Daddy!)
I'm headed to her preschool for a little celebration. I LOVE how Montessori handles birthdays! I bring in 3 flowers (one for each year) and also photos of Sarah, one for each year. They place a "sun" in the middle of the floor, and while the teachers and other children sing the sweetest song, Sarah takes one trip around the sun, then two, then three. We share the pictures and talk about how she has grown. And, of course, there will be treats! Sarah's request? Mommy's carrot cake cupcakes!
She and JJ will share a birthday party one more time this year. I am working on accepting the fact that their birthdays should be about them, and not me! But two birthdays 11 days apart has always been easily solved with one party! Talk to me next year to see what I've come up with!
